• Differentiate between different types of entrepreneurship
• Outline the stages of the entrepreneurial process
• Apply problem/solution techniques for generating innovative business ideas

Mini-Units

Students will be able to

• Discuss the different roles an entrepreneur commonly fills when launching a business
• Analyze why startups fail and how to overcome obstacles faced by entrepreneurs
• Examine ethical considerations in entrepreneurship and make ethical decisions

Fincap Fridays

During the 30 days between 9/15 and 10/15 each year, America celebrates Latinx/Hispanic Heritage Month. Recent data shows trends in entrepreneurship that show a few interesting insignts into this fast-growing community.

Activities

In this activity, students will be able to:

• Practice making ethical decisions
• Discuss ethical dilemmas that arise when running a business

Math Activities

Students solve systems of linear equations using substitution at three levels: 

• Level 1 -- Solve a system of equations around two part-time jobs and an emergency fund goal of $10,000
• Level 2 -- Earning two different interest rates with two different principals, compare savings account balances and determine when the two friends will have saved the same amount
• Level 3 -- Switch to entrepreneurship and write and then solve a system of equations to produce a break-even analysis on your bracelet making business 

8/16/2023: NGPF's Philanthropy and Entrepreneurship are getting an update! The revamped Entrepreneurship Mini-Unit engages students with fun and personalized activities, covers a broader range of topics, and draws connections between entrepreneurship and personal finance. The revamped Philanthropy Mini-Unit embeds more student choice, exploration of personal values, and analysis of how philanthropy fits into our broader society.
